Alternative Energy Sources

Alternative EnergyThe ATA (Alternative Technology Association) is an Australian organisation that promotes sustainable technologies and offers practical information and advice on energy management. I noticed on their website one article on micro wind generation in an urban environment. Off course this is one of the biggest problems in generating power from wind turbines – how to do so in an environment where the wind speed and flow can be disrupted by buildings, roof tops, trees and other tall obstacles. This factor is one reason why fitting wind turbines to houses may not be practical in built-up areas. There is simply not the same energy flow to capture as can be found in rural open-space environments.
