High Efficiency Is The Answer For Data Centre Managers Looking For Continuity
Wednesday, August 29th, 2007
One of the primary concerns for data centre managers is how to deal with the heat generated by the racks of servers they operate. Air conditioning is a pre-requisite to tackle this problem head-on. Computer and peripheral manufacturers are also now faced with growing demands for more environmentally friendly hardware and there will be a continued drive here to use power supplies with higher efficiencies. However, what can be done to get the heat generated by the processors down themselves is yet to be seen.
One of the design areas Riello UPS is heavily focused on is the efficiency of its products and their environmental impact. The new Multi Plus UPS, which recently helped Riello UPS gain the Frost and Sullivan product line leadership award can achieve operating efficiencies of greater than 98%. This results in five year operating costs which can be significantly less than competitor’s models and in real terms means that the UPS also adds less to overall cooling demands.
